PORTALS OF PRAYER The 3rd quarter “Portals of Prayer” are available on the table as you enter the worship area. These daily devotions are ideal for a busy schedule. There is a scripture reading, psalm and a brief devotional set aside for each day. They are small enough that you can take it to work to read on your lunch break or it can be read as you sit waiting in the doctor’s office. NEW BIBLE STUDY “Heaven and Hell,” a Bible study on the scriptural teaching concerning Heaven, Christ’s return, and Hell, will meet today immediately following the Sunday worship service. Studying God’s word is vitally important in the spiritual health of God’s people. Please prayerfully consider attending this new Bible study. Try it for a month and see if this spiritual food isn’t just what you’ve been missing. LWML Meeting Lutheran Women’s Missionary League Will Meet Saturday, January 10 Contact Lois L. PEACE AROUND THE TABLE Peace Around the Table will resume the first Sunday in January. Great fun was had by all last year; please join us this new year. There will be a sign up sheet on the back table in December. If you have any questions, please see Stella Little, Chris Paganes, Lois Liebich, Renee Dunn or Audrey Armstrong. CHRISTMAS PROGRAM Our Christmas Program, “Festival of Carols,” will take place on Sunday, December 21st during the 9:30 worship service. It is a traditional “Lessons and Carols” with all your favorites. All the Sunday School classes will be Involved in narrations and acting out the Christmas Story. Plan now for the children and youth rehearsals which start Sunday, November 30th from 10:45 to 11:45 each Sunday. There is a part for every child registered for Sunday School. Parts will be passed out by November 23rd so everyone can be ready for rehearsals on the 30th. CHRISTMAS PARTY Our annual Christmas Party will be held on December 12th at the Lakewood Country Club. There will be fun, food, music, fellowship and a white elephant exchange. Please let Stella Little know if you plan to attend by November 30th. The cost will be $21.00 per person.
“FAITH’S” CHRISTMAS COOKIE SALE Faith Lutheran Church will be having a Christmas Cookie Sale On Friday, December 12th from 5:00 to 7:00 and Saturday, December 13th from 9:00 to 1:00. The cookie sale is benefitting the Shelter for Abused Women and Children. Matching funds are being provided by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. The church is located at 4150 Goodlette Road North. GAITHER CONCERT If you love Gospel Music, the Gaither Homecoming show is coming to Germain Arena, Thursday, February 12 at 7 p.m. Mid-priced seats for a group over ten people is $27.60. If you have an interest, sign up with Bonnie Craven by December 20th. PAUL TODD CONCERT Paul Todd will conduct a free concert at Ave Maria on December 13th from 1:00 to 3:00. He will also be in concert at Shepherd of the Glades Lutheran Church on Thursday December 4th at 7:00 p.m. The cost for this benefit concert will be $20.00. For tickets, call 775-0696.
