Are You at Home with God!?
“If anyone love me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” – Jesus (John 14.23)
The success of a professional tennis player is dependent on conforming to his/her coaching. A musician in an orchestra must conform to the rhythm and musical interpretations of the conductor for the symphony to sound great. Parents are responsible to get compliance from their children to establish disciplines and respect boundaries.
This is Jesus’ essential point in the above Scripture. We experience him as a friend in our home when we conform to his calling; are obedient to his commands and follow his lead. The power of the cross comes alive in us through both forgiveness received and granted. The peace of God resonates through our lives from the confidence won in the resurrection.
The home of our soul is prepared for his visit as we “conform” – as we are shaped by His Word, obey his teachings and walk with him.
Come to worship to be inspired and equipped to obey and welcome Jesus and His Dad into the home of your soul!
Plan to stay afterwards for brunch to celebrate the company of God’s saints conforming to God’s will!
